Love this place!!! It’s a spot that I always know will have everything on point. Highly suggest sitting outside if you want to have a bit more quiet conversation. Inside seating can be louder. Otherwise, service, selection, and atmosphere is fabulous every time!!!
My girls wanted something yummy on this raining day and decided on sushi. I’ve passed by this place multiple times and finally had a chance to try it out.
Long story short, the food was fresh and amazing. The service was wonderful. And, my girls and I were full.
Get the flaming dragon roll. It’s literally on fire! The assortment of different specialties we ordered were great.
The server was really nice and the food tasted good. Had a very nice and pleasant experience. I recommend the tiger roll and the flaming dragon
Was in Lodi for business, and just wanted to find someplace to eat. This intrigued me at first glance, so we decided to go here to try it out. Man, did we ever felt glad we chose this spot!
Let's start with the important stuff: the food.
We ordered croquettes and the sake negima(?) salmon sashimi for appetizers, the bento box and the Code.3 sushi roll for the main entrée, with a last minute choice of Today's Special Catch of the Day nigiri. What can I say aside from *chef's kisses*?! The croquettes was nicely thicc and creamy, like a real croquette instead of just fried potato in the form of croquettes. 😍 The salmon sashimi was so fresh and flavourful, it was like a wave of enjoyment with each bite! For the bento box, the included miso soup was made using what I believe is yellow or red miso, not white miso that's usually used, which gave the soup a much deeper flavor, and a different kind of umami that one normally doesn't have or associates with miso soup. It's still delicious, but I think I prefer white miso soup.
The meat, though. That's something else. For the main entrées of the bento box, we went with sesame chicken, teriyaki beef, and teriyaki salmon. The meat was actually cut all the way through, and almost melts in your mouth. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the sauce wasn't overly done so we weren't getting just sauce with some meat. The sauce was actually being an enhancement to the meat. 👌🏻
The Code.3 sushi roll was like a party in my mouth! 😍 The flavors just blended so well together, and ironically paired well with the mango lemonade I chose for my drink. The little lobster salad next to the roll really helped to bring out the flavors of the roll out as I'm eating the roll and the lobster salad one after the other.
Then finally, the chef's catch of the day special. We think we mistakenly ate it in the wrong order for our preferences, because it started with strong flavor and ended with a light flavor (pink to white nigiri), but it still turned out so well regardless. It was just so delicious!
Lastly, the staff was so helpful and attentive, and you can feel the staff wants to be there. That's getting pretty rare these days! We love it when we're consistently asked if we want refills or if everything is doing good so far, since it shows the staff want us to have a good experience with them!
It was really icing on the cake when we got to meet the owner when our main entrées came out! I believe her name was Sunny? It's pretty rare when an owner of an establishment can recognize at a glance whether you've been there before or not! We've learned a great deal about Japanese cuisine because of her passion for food. ❤️
We'll definitely come back again! 😊
My go-to place for quality Japanese food, Always worth the wait.. awesome and attentive staff, great wine selection, fresh fish.. Ive Never had a bad experience here, and i recommend it to all my friends!
We were a party of 15, with a reservation for lunch. We arrived around 11:30 and were seated right away. The server was friendly and efficient. Drinks were promptly served and orders taken. About half of us ordered some type of sushi roll and the rest ordered bento boxes or teriyaki /
the food is SO good and the staff is super nice as well.
Sunny, the owner, did an omakase for us and it was -divine-. 18 courses, each topping the last. Freshness and quality clearly matter to them. This is the best sushi I've ever had, in Lodi, of all places... but its true!
